Benjamin Nevarez is a SQL Server independent consultant based in Los Angeles, California, who specializes in SQL Server query tuning and optimization. He is the author of “SQL Server 2014 Query Tuning amp; Optimization” and “Inside the SQL Server Query Optimizer” and co-author of “SQL Server 2012 Internals.quot; Benjamin has also been a speaker at many SQL Server conferences, including PASS Summit, SQL Server Connections, and SQLBits. 15 years in IT. What a ride we are on! I am a technical resource that has fell in love with SQL and what it can do. The projects that I work on range from big (50GB) to huge (3 Tb) to massive (30TB) databases and all that that entails. PM, Architect, Lead, Mentor, BA, Developer, DBA, Tester and yes call centre operator.

Steve Simon is an AVP with State Street Corporation Boston. He has been involved with database design and analysis for over 23 years. He has presented papers at eight PASS Summits and PASS Europe 2009 2010. He is the chairman of the PASS SQL Server / Oracle Virtual Chapter in addition to being a PASS Regional Mentor. He is also a regular presenter at SQLSaturdays and regional Code Camps.
Phlippie Smit has over 15 years’ experience with SQL Server. He spent most of his career in a MIS/BI environment and has used SQL Server 6.5 – 2008 in his endeavours. He is passionate about performance and optimisation, and improving out-dated processes and thinking.
Jason Brimhall has more than 20 years of experience and has worked with SQL Server 6.5 through SQL Server 2019. He has experience in performance tuning, high transaction environments, and large environments. He is currently a consultant specializing in performance tuning, server analysis, and problem resolution. Jason is a Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) and a Data Platform MVP.

I am a seasoned data platform professional, with over 10 years experience in the field, with an interest in data platform technologies, as well as the systems they are built on.
I worked for one of the largest banks in South Africa, and was then recruited into the Premier Field Engineering (PFE) division within Microsoft CSS. I spent over 3 years working in PFE for SQL Server and Analytics Platform System (APS).
Currently I am an Data Architect for a South African startup using Azure, the Microsoft Data Platform, and analytics.
I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to podcasts, and learning about new technologies.
Gail Shaw is a Database Specialist focusing on database performance tuning and database recovery, with a particular interest in topics such as indexing strategies, execution plans, and writing T-SQL code that performs well and scales gracefully. Gail holds a Microsoft Certified Master certification for SQL Server 2008 and is a Data Platform MVP. She's a frequent poster on the SQLServerCentral forums, a Pluralsight author, writes articles for both SQLServerCentral.com and Simple-Talk.com, and has spoken at SQLSaturdays, SQL Bits and at the PASS Community Summit. Gail has been responsible for extending the lifespan of many an application, by performance-tuning their databases and providing technical guidance on all things SQL Server related.
