Abstract: Même si la théorie voudrait que les saisies de données soient traitées dans le monde applicatif, il nous ait tous arrivé d’avoir à offrir une petite interface de saisie à nos utilisateurs.

Cette session propose un rapide tour d’horizon des méthodes offertes dans l’univers SQL Server, avec démonstration:

  • Listes SharePoint synchronisées par SSIS
  • Pages ASP.NET déployées sur IIS
  • Application LightSwitch connectée à SQL Server
  • Fichiers Excel chargés régulièrement par SSIS

On parlera avantages et inconvénients, technique, licencing, et on évoquera également les autres solutions possibles (Access, InfoPath…).

Consultant décisionnel depuis 2009, j’ai eu l’occasion d’explorer certaines des fonctionnalités offertes par SQL Server, et cela est loin d’être terminé avec la croissance des volumes de données, et les nouveaux outils à disposition (Data Insights), de nouveaux défis vont très certainement s’offrir à nous. Même si la B.I. reste mon coeur de métier, je ne cache pas mon intérêt pour le Moteur SQL Server, surtout si l’on rajoute à ceci l’impact d’un hébergement en IaaS dans Azure !
