Welcome to SQLSaturday #149

SQLSaturday is a training event for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server. This event will be held Sep 29 2012 at University of Minnesota - Keller Hall, 200 Union Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455. Admittance to this event is free, but we do charge a lunch fee of 10.00 so that we can provide a lunch - not pizza! Please register soon as seating is limited, and let friends and colleagues know about the event.

We are just days away from the big event!

While there are many ways to get to the venue site (
200 Union Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455), it is important to know that the main thoroughfare, Washington Avenue, is no longer open to motor traffic.  We have found that one of the easiest ways into this area of campus, and the parking ramps closest to the venue, is by way of University Avenue.

There are a number of parking ramps within five or six blocks of the venue, some only one or two blocks.

·         Distance: 1-2 blocks/$12 daily maximum rate

o   Washington Avenue Ramp (next door to venue)

§  From University Avenue:  Right on Church Street, Left on Pillsbury Drive, Right on Beacon Street, Left on Union Street, Left into the ramp.

o   Church Street Garage  (two blocks from venue)

§  From University Avenue:  Right on Church Street, continue straight and turn right into the parking garage.

·         Distance: 4-6 blocks/$6 daily maximum rate

o   East River Road Garage (five blocks from venue)

o   Oak Street Ramp (five-six blocks from venue)

o   4th Street Ramp (five blocks from venue)

As you approach Keller Hall from any direction, you should begin to see the SQL Saturday signs and our small army of volunteers, in orange shirts.

Regardless of your plan, we strongly encourage you to check out the University’s Parking and Transportation and Campus Maps websites.  They are extremely helpful.
