Session 1: Fast Track
your Business Intelligence Projects with BIML - David Stein
You're a business
intelligence developer or manager trying to provide quality data in a timely,
cost-effective manner. Perhaps you've considered Agile methodology, but found
that the details of ETL, the plumbing if you will, makes iterative development all
but impossible. In just one day, you'll learn how to leverage Business
Intelligence Markup Language (Biml) to super charge your ETL efforts,
alleviating the pain and tedium of data warehouse development.

Session 2: Predictive
Analytics in the Enterprise - Carlos Bossy
Data Science is a
red-hot subject, but what does that mean for SQL Server DBAs and
developers? The Data Mining algorithms in Analysis Services provide
capabilities to achieve predictive analytics and modeling with your SQL Server
data and any other data you have access to. In this session you’ll get
the chance to cover the data mining process from start to end. By the end
of the day, you’ll have a practical understanding of how to develop predictive
models for your data. The session includes a brief overview of data
mining followed by an opportunity to complete actual predictive modeling
exercises. You’ll see how to fine-tune and compare the results using
various algorithms, and how to make the best use of the models in your enterprise.
With Predictive Analytics having achieved the Plateau of Productivity in
Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, now is a good time to learn
what these powerful tools can do for you.

Session 3: Practical
self-Service BI with PowerPivot for Excel - Bill Pearson
Server MVP and Business Intelligence Architect Bill Pearson leads this
full-day, hands-on introduction to using PowerPivot for Excel to deliver
self-service business intelligence. The focus of the course is to help those
new to PowerPivot to become familiar with the assembly of data from diverse
sources into models that deliver business intelligence upon demand.
Participants will gain exposure to accessing and relating data, and to
employing the Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) language, to construct and share
PowerPivot applications that support analysis and reporting throughout the
