Sponsorship Plan

Welcome! We hope you'll consider becoming a sponsor of SQL Saturday #109 Silicon Valley.

Silicon Valley's first SQL Saturday will be held on March 3, 2012, in Mountain View, California.  This is a free one-day training conference that is expected to draw 500 SQL Server professionals, largely from Northern California.
The event will also serve as a West Coast SQL Server 2012 Launch Event. There will be a keynote from Microsoft, and a very strong SQL Server 2012-focused "Launch Track."  Microsoft and one hardware vendor will be Launch Sponsors, sponsoring the keynote and the Launch Track.  Since Microsoft will be marketing this event to their Enterprise Accounts, we expect to see a high percentage of large Bay Area companies represented.

This event is being organized by three local SQL Server User Groups. These groups are:
Silicon Valley SQL Server User Group
San Francisco SQL Server User Group
Bay Area Microsoft Business Intelligence User Group
Each of these User Groups is well established, and meets monthly. Attendance averages over 50 per meeting. Our meetings provide valuable learning and networking opportunities for the Bay Area's SQL Server Administrators, Developers, and Business Intelligence professionals. These groups have two parent organizations. Our local parent is the Bay Area Association of Database Developers (BAADD). Our global parent is the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS).
Event Overview

How Much Does it Cost to be a Sponsor?
SQL Saturday is run by volunteers and is free to attendees.  However, we have significant costs to put on an event of this size, including food and drink, speaker shirts, and programs.  Your aid makes a successful SQL Saturday possible.  To register as a sponsor, just visit our site and fill out our sponsorship registration form.  We'll email you an invoice.

Don’t see a sponsorship plan that quite meets your needs? Contact us and we’ll see what we can work out. Payments will be accepted by “PASS” on behalf of the three local PASS Chapters, and all the money goes toward putting on this free not for profit event.

The Raffle - Your Key to Success
The biggest challenge with community events is capturing contact information for follow-ups.  To help our sponsors with this, we provide attendees with a set of pre-printed raffle tickets (see below) that will contain their name and email address.  They are then able to put these tickets into the raffle box at each sponsor table to try to win a prize.  This is more effective than any other technique we have seen for trying to capture contact information, and that includes scanning their name badge.
SQL Saturday 109 Silicon Valley Raffle Ticket

Because we want you to be successful, all of our sponsorship levels include the requirement that you provide at least one prize of at least $100 in value, and that you provide a full color 8-1/2 x 11 flyer that highlights the prize(s) you are providing for the raffle.  Raffle prizes are optional for Bronze level sponsors, but are encouraged.

We provide the raffle box.  We will have one table for all absentee vendors.  Raffle ticket collection will proceed through the end of the day.  If someone from your team is present, we will ask them to draw the winning ticket.  Otherwise, we will draw the ticket on your behalf.  Attendees must be present to win.  If there is a physical prize, we'll give it to them.  Otherwise, we will forward their contact information to you for follow-up (for license keys, etc.).

After the event we will mail you all the raffle tickets from your box.  There may be duplicates.  Depending on how exciting your prize is, attendees may contribute more than one ticket to your box.

Event Logistics

Sponsors will be allowed into the event site 30 minutes before registration opens.  Sponsor tables will be located in the same area as breakfast/lunch, to make it easy for attendees to stop by your table.  We encourage sponsors to remain onsite through at least lunch, and if possible, to have a representative available to present your prize at the end of day raffle. Lunch will be provided to sponsors who have registered.  Please have everyone from your team who will be attending register at www.sqlsaturday.com so we know how much food to make available.
